Circuit wins Business Partner of the Year at the CUBO Awards

19th August 2014

Beating off strong competition,  the Circuit team have recently collected the prestigious award  of ‘Business Partner of the Year’ at this year’s CUBO awards in recognition of their efforts to enhance student experience to turn laundry from a chore into something that’s positive and fun.

The prestigious award was voted by CUBO members in acknowledgment of the level of customer support that has been provided to universities and their students over many years.

Circuit Director Malcolm Brooke said: “We are delighted to have won Business Partner of the Year – particularly as it was voted for by the universities themselves. It’s our job to make the laundry experience one to enjoy rather than endure and we aim to make our launderettes a pleasant place to be – to make and meet friends, to relax with a book or a magazine…or of course, to catch up on assignments! With a proactive approach to helping students, we in turn, give our business partners a unique solution that has a healthy impact on their bottom line”

Circuit introduces £5 top-ups, making life even easier for students

6th June 2013

After listening to feedback from students all over the UK, Circuit has introduced a new, lower value top-up amount which will allow students to add £5 at a time to their My Circuit accounts. Replacing the previous £10 minimum top-up, the £5 option means students can get the best of both worlds, keeping more of their cash free for other things while still being able to load their Circuit account with enough credit to cover a number of visits – and not having to carry change.

As Circuit’s Director Malcolm Brooke explains:

“We are always keen to ensure we are offering the very best service that we can for our clients and their students, so during recent site visits we spent quite a bit of time talking to students to see if there was anything we could do to make Circuit laundry life easier for them, a £5 minimum top-up was the main thing that kept popping up. We were happy to introduce this as a result of the feedback- giving them a £5 option means they can keep cash free for other things, but still have the convenience of using our top-up card system.”

York University agrees new 8-year contract with Circuit

1st September 2012

Having benefited from Circuit’s managed laundry proposition since 2007, York University has committed to a new 8-year contract with the leading managed laundry provider. As a testament to a close relationship with Circuit, as well as its first-hand experience of innovations such as the online LaundryView service, the university has awarded Circuit the planning, designing, project managing and implementing of a launderette in a 600-bed new build, on-campus site. As part of the long-term renewal, Circuit will also replace and upgrade equipment across its existing laundries, and redecorate its existing sites which serve over 5,000 students.

The new contract will allow York University to benefit from considerable investment in its facilities for no capital outlay. Students will enjoy better facilities, while the university will see increased profits. The new deal will also allow the university to move from coin-operated machines to more energy-efficient cashless vending models, which in turn will improve user experience as well as revenue.

Bradford University site gains ‘Outstanding’ BREEAM status

31st July 2012

‘The Green’ Student Village at Bradford University has recently been completed, incorporating an energy-efficient managed laundry from Circuit. Serving accommodation that houses over 1,000 students, the laundry was planned and designed in partnership with the project owners, MI7.

Circuit’s opportunity to work on the project followed an endorsement from the university itself – who already have 12 Circuit managed laundries on their existing campuses. The machines used in the eco-friendly complex all meet energy and water criteria set by BREEAM’s environmental benchmark, and aided the site’s recognition as the first ‘Outstanding’ student accommodation in the country – with a 95.05% score giving it the highest ever BREEAM rating for any building.
